power of a heartbeat
Last week my son Jonathan held me as I sobbed until I was done crying and snotting. When I was calm, just standing with my head on his chest he prayed with me.
This week my son Andrew held me as I sobbed until I was done crying and snotting. As I stood in his embrace, calm, I recognized something I didn't even realize I have been longing for.
It is something that I heard in both of my boys.
It is something that helped calm me.
It is something that promotes healing.
It isn't something that happens with a casual hug,
it happens when you are held close,
both persons silent and still.
The power of hearing a beating heart.
"Lord, please open my ears so I can hear Your heart
and please work in me so my heart beats in sync with Yours."
