when your kid hurts

when your kid hurts
emotionally
mentally
physically
spiritually
and there is nothing you can do 
to make it better
nothing you can do to alleviate the pain
I think you have two options:
1. make it about you
mourn and wail and feel sorry because you can't change things
or 
2. assault the throne of grace on their behalf,
interceding for them,
wrestling with the enemy,
and carry it all to the One who created them,
the One who loves them even more than you do

excuse me while I get my knees dirty...

"For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need."
