fire pits, moon rises and star gazing 190/366
the heat index here was @100+ again today
at 6:30pm it is 84, humidity is at 67%, feels like 91
I need something different to close this day
so I am writing and posting early
because soon I am going to have a fire in the pit
it isn't going to cool down significantly
but sometimes I need to build a fire
burn some brush
maybe roast some marshmallows
be mesmerized by the dancing flames
watch the moonrise
star gaze
and listen
to words unspoken
yet beautifully articulated by the night sky
you might not have a firepit,
but if you take a few minutes and look up at the night sky
you can join me in being awed by the One who created the stars
who calls them by name
who knows our names and loves us

"Lift up your eyes on high
And see who has created these stars,
The One who leads forth their host by number,
He calls them all by name;
Because of the greatness of His might and the strength of His power,
Not one of them is missing."
Isaiah 40:26
