sometimes, 

silence speaks

sometimes silence speaks volumes

tonight as I enjoyed the evening in the home of my mother-in-law

with Deborah, Abigail, Selah, Gabriel and Bill's siblings

I was transported via memory lane to past family gatherings here

Thanksgiving and Christmas especially

tonight it was the voices that were not here

that I intermittently heard shouting their absence 

I am pretty sure I also heard cheering for Cheryl and Sarah's idea 

that we need to have a family reunion next summer :)
